About the Oriental Causes

Throughout the history of chinese medicine, traditional doctors have searched how to controll the high blood pressure. They used the terms of "elevated Yang energy of the liver", "deficient Yin energy of the kidneys" and "humididty and hotness of the colon" for describing the underlying conditions of high blood pressure(hypertension). Unfortunately, however, they have failed to fix the problem satisfactorily and completely. This is why we utilize the chinese, alternative and all other natural medical resources currently available.

Why is it so important?High blood pressure affects the whole body. 1)It increase the early death rate by three times 2)It increase the development of heart failure by five times and once the heart failure has become present, the life expectancy are five years left by average. And these are not all that matters. 3)What is called "stroke", "cereblovascular accidant" by medical terms, a pathology of massive brain cell deaths caused by bleeding and high blood pressure in the brain, easily come into existence among high blood pressure patients. 4)The proportion of heart attack is also much higher in high blood pressure patients than normal.

With the high blood pressure involved, the poor blood circulation unavoidably will immerge, for the blood flow invariably and unnecessarily have to run into tough walls of blood vessels. It means that blood volume carrying oxygen and nutrients arrives at tissues and organs in less amount than normal. The targeted organs and tissues have to live on less amount of vital nutrients than needed. In the circumstance, the brain function, genital organs, kidneys, for example, and many other important parts of the body become deteriorated as the blood can't provide enough nutrients.

Oriental Causes

¡ß congestion around the liver

The liver may be congested as one gets frustrated or upset, for instance. And invironmental pollutions, bad substances absorbed in the digestive tract may also take a toll on the congestion, for the liver have to detoxify these substances.

This situation, termed as liver congestion in chinese medicine, may drive up the blood pressure. The exact mechanism may not be credible for the modern scientsits but chinese medicine practitioners believe that impure and turbid blood caused by insufficient detoxification, certainly stand in the way of keeping blood pressure normal, whereas the pure blood helps to keep it normal.

¡ß Insufficiency of Yin energy, abnormal kidney

Poor dietary habits such as trans fatty acids and/or too much eating of sugars, for example, may impair kidneys and prostate gland. Modern science warns the same way when it comes to the effect the diet has on the organs. The kidneys are composed of tiny and small vessels, where all the blood in the body drops useless substances and other waste products. When the tiny vessls in the kidneys impair for various kinds of reasons, it affects the whole blood circulation putting considerable burdens on the normal blood pressure.

¡ßObesity(obese humidity)

The conventional medicine and oriental medicine share the same opinions in discussing the bad effect the overweight have on the high blood pressure. Not only the obesity itself but the other imbalances and dysfunctions caused additional weights, certainly may be the culprits in raising blood pressures. Every medical specialist agrees that reducing bidy weight, especially around the belly area, will lower blood pressure efficiently. Upon this matter, Korean oriental medicine may be more effective than others as it may be able to enhances the energy production passways in the cells.

¡ß Hotness and Humidity in colon

Colon problems like constipation, unrelieved or irregular bowel movements, diarrhea, chron's disease, or irritanle bowel syndrome are examples of disrrupting the colon's normal function of digesting and absorbing nutrients. With impaired absorption, the colon sufferers subsequently develop many problems, from gas and abdominal pain, to colon and rectal tumors and even to high blood pressure as it absorbs poorly assimilated substances as well as other toxins that otherwise should be expelled by the active movement of colon.

What is called by oriental medicine practitioners as "Hotness and humidity in colon" denotes this undesirable situation, meaning that the colon has got confused in the function of absorbing and excreting. As a result, the colon absorbs what have to be excreted out from the gut.

In this way, hot and humid colon makes the fundermantal problem that may cause a varioty of symptoms from internal disorderslike high blood pressure and poor digestion, to mental disorders like poor concentration and memory loss and to other allergic reactions. The mechanism for high blood pressure is that bad substances comes into bloodstreams due to improper absorption, damaging and disrrupting internal walls of blood vessels and decreasing the flexibility of vessels.
